Daily updates for 4th of Feb

Hi parents and my little angels,
Thank you once again for the wonderful show and tell session today. Although some boys were a little restless towards the end of the show and tell presentation, I could tell that most if not all boys were prepared for their speech. It is a good start and just to answer some of your qualms regarding the exact date of the reading test on poem, I will only commence testing after the CNY holidays on Tues, 12th of Feb. This will give our boys ample time to practice their reading of the poem during the CNY break. I will inform the boys the exact poem that they will be reading come tomorrow, 5th of Feb.
Just a little insight to today's curriculum, our reading mums did a great job in coaching our darlings in their readings. Not only that, I have noticed a significant improvement in the boys cooperating with one another during the group work sessions held in class. Most if not all groups were on task and they created a family fashion collage in the revision lesson on "My family members." We read the book on interesting insects and creepy crawlies, followed by another amazing pop-out book that showcased different olympic sports. I briefly mentioned the coming Beijing Olympics and went through various sporting activities with the boys. They were really engaged, probably due to the amazing pop-outs which allowed the boys to have an in-depth overview of how the sporting activities were performed. =D Get your child to share this with you.
Lastly, the boys did composing of Chinese New Year song in music class today. They worked in their groups to come up with a group song in the tune of "Gong xi gong xi" and presented the song in front of everyone. tIn the midst of it I taught the boys how to evaluate their group performances and that kept everyone pretty engaged throughout the group singing presentation.
Okie, enough said, here's the homework for today.

(1) Guardian Angel Letters for the Primary 1 have been given out and this "Aunt Agony" programme encourages our boys to write in if they need to find someone to share their problems with. The students can choose to either write in via e-mail (chsguardianangel@gmail.com) or send hardcopy letters to Form Teachers or the Guardian Angel letterbox (located at the staircase between the Library and Class 2B).

(2) Some boys have forgotten to bring their spelling books or have forgotten to get their parents to sign in their spelling books. Kindly check with your child if he has submitted the book.

Love,
Teresa
